Claremore Police say the bodies of 26-year-old Candace McCulley Kehoe and her ex-husband, 27-year-old George Dakota Kehoe, were recovered from a truck in Claremore Lake this morning.
Police say evidence shows Candace died in a violent attack at the hands of Dakota last night. They say he then drove into the lake and shot himself… with Candace’s body also in the truck.
A witness saw the trunk sinking and called 911 around 11:30 last night.
Police say officers were already investigating because someone had flagged them down to report a possible murder-suicide involved the Kehoes around the same time.
Police say Candace and Dakota were recently involved in child-custody issues. Investigators say the children involved were safe at a family member’s home at the time of the deaths.
