Upper East Side Stabbing: Video, Photos Of Suspect Are Released
New York– Police have released video showing Thursday’s broad-daylight stabbing on the Upper East Side, asking for help identifying the suspect in what authorities called an unprovoked attack.
The footage then shows the suspect lunging at the victim — a 29-year-old man — with a knife, in front of the entrance to the 63rd Street F-Q subway station. Footage shows the victim backpedaling toward Third Avenue as the assailant chases after him.
The victim was slashed multiple times in the back and left arm, according to police. He was rushed to Weill Cornell Medical Center, where he remained in stable condition Saturday.
The suspect is described as a roughly 30-year-old man with dark complexion and a medium build. He was last seen wearing a black sweatshirt, black jeans and black sneakers, plus the black mask.
Police released other photos showing the suspect, and asked anyone with information to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477)
