Baltimore police release bodycam video of Anthony Ferguson being fatal shot when he pulled out a gun.
According to police, investigators had been following Ferguson and knew where to find him in south Baltimore when he took a break from work.
They wanted to question him about firing a weapon four days prior, in which no one was hit.
The video shows officers searching Ferguson’s backpack as he started backing away and pulled a gun from his waistband, firing three rounds, police said.
“It was a Springfield 45 semiautomatic; it did have an extended magazine on it, which can carry anywhere between 27 and 29 rounds,” Baltimore Police Deputy Commissioner Brian Nadeau said.
According to police, five officers shot 39 rounds at Ferguson. Detective Nicolas Wellems, a 10-year BPD veteran, was struck in the chest by one of Ferguson’s rounds.
