A police officer was shot and injured in the Chicago suburb of Lombard.
According to sources, the wounded officer was responding to an armed robbery in progress when he was shot by one of the fleeing suspects. Officials from the Village of Lombard confirmed that an officer was shot and a suspect was injured.
The officer was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, but their condition is unknown at this time.
According to the source, two people have been arrested.
There is still a significant police presence. During the investigation, Lombard officials asked the public to avoid the area of Ann Street between Lincoln and Main.
