SPREAD THE WORD: Birmingham police need your help identifying a man who investigators say attacked and robbed an elderly person.
“On Tuesday, October 12, 2021, an elderly community member was purchasing items inside of the Jefferson Avenue Food Mart, located at 5408 Jefferson Avenue, when the suspect stole U.S. currency from the victim and began striking the victim in the back of the head with a handgun.
The suspect then fled the store,” Officer Truman Fitzgerald said.
The elderly person had to go to the hospital for their injuries.
