Police have released the image of a man as they continue to appeal for information following a hit-and-run in Sydney’s west yesterday.
Just after 3pm (Saturday 30 July 2022), emergency services were called to the cycleway next to the M7 Westlink, Rooty Hill, following reports a motorised scooter had struck a cyclist.
The cyclist, a 31-year-old woman, suffered serious leg and arm injuries and was taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.
The rider and pillion passenger of the Honda scooter fled into nearby bushland.
Officers from the Crash Investigation Unit are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and have released the image of a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.
The man depicted is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 160 to 170cm tall, of slim build and with tattoos on his ankles. He is shown wearing a face covering, black vest over a royal blue jumper, and dark pants.
As inquiries continue, anyone of may have seen or heard the motorised scooters, have dashcam or CCTV footage in relation to this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
