Massachusetts – A witness said a police K-9 was shot as an armed suspect was inside of a Fitchburg, Massachusetts, home Tuesday afternoon.
The incident was taking place along Oliver Street, directly across the street from the Fitchburg Police Department.
Just before 5 p.m., officers with high-powered weapons appeared to enter the third floor of an apartment building. Flash bangs and what seemed to be a smoke grenade could be seen and heard.
Video taken from a witness nearly showed a police K-9 being taken from the scene on a stretcher. The condition of the K-9 was not immediately known.
No additional was immediately available from police.
