Police are investigating a Wednesday afternoon shooting at a home on Lincoln Avenue.
As a precaution the Nathan Hale Elementary School has been placed on lockdown, borough officials said.
The shooting was reported about 1p.m. Wednesday, according to a police monitoring service.
The shooting is under investigation by Carteret police and other law enforcement agencies.
Additional information will be provided as it becomes available, borough officials said.
