(Fayetteville, NC) -On September 16, 2024, at approximately 11:50 a.m., officers with the Fayetteville Police Department responded to the intersection of Bragg Boulevard and McPherson Avenue regarding a traffic incident.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a motorcycle was traveling inbound on Bragg Boulevard when a pedestrian was crossing the roadway.
A vehicle traveling outbound was making a left turn onto McPherson Avenue from Bragg Boulevard.
The motorcycle operator laid the motorcycle down to avoid striking the pedestrian and another vehicle. The motorcycle operator then slid into the other vehicle.
The motorcyclist was transported to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending next of kin notification.
