The Baton Rouge Police Homicide Division is looking for a suspect in connection to a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a 50-year-old woman.

According to authorities, officers found Shelia Mitchell shot and killed inside a residence on Saturday, June 29, around 8:46 a.m. in the 1300 block of N. Christy Drive.

Police are searching for Josue Guevera Mejia, 35, in connection to the homicide.

Mejia is wanted on charges of second degree murder and illegal use of weapons or dangerous instrumentalities.

He was last seen driving a white Ford van with a temporary tag labeled 13664651. Officials say Mejia is considered armed and dangerous. They ask if you see him to call 911.
