The Louisville Metro Police Department is asking for help finding two men in connection with an animal cruelty case.
The department called the case “one of the worst we’ve seen” on Facebook, and now police are searching for John Amato and William Grieshaber, who are accused of second-degree animal cruelty.
Police said they are accused of moving from a home and leaving eight dogs behind. The dogs appeared to be neglected, covered in feces, and eating drywall.
“The distinct odor of feces and urine was so powerful, we could smell it from the street,” the department said.
Seven of the eight dogs have since been adopted, but one dog, Sadie, is still looking for a forever home.
The department said anyone interested in giving her a forever home should call Louisville Metro Animal Services at 502-473-7387; her animal ID is A748650.
