Police arrest a man who says someone put a stolen gun in his pocket.
Police say Evan Monroe was passed out yesterday on a sidewalk near 14th and South Sheridan and was intoxicated.
They say he didn’t remember how he got there and admitted he had cocaine in his pocket.
They say they searched him before taking him to jail and found a loaded pistol as well and Monroe said it wasn’t his, that someone must’ve put it there.
Officers say it had been reported stolen from a federal law enforcement agency.
He was booked for having a gun as a felon, having a gun while intoxicated and having a stolen gun and public intoxication.
