RawNews1st – Police arrest a man accused of sexually assaulting a girl starting when she was 13.
The affidavit for Ruben Garza says the girl is now 15 and told a friend about the abuse in July.
That friend’s mother called police.
It says at first, the girl was reluctant to tell police about the incidents because Garza had told the girl, her mother would go to jail and she would be taken away from her mother and he would kill her.
It says the abuse was reported again in September, to DHS but again, the girl was reluctant to talk about it.
It says in October, the girl’s mother took her to the police station and told police she knew the abuse had happened because she had caught Garza in the act of abusing the girl, 2 years ago.
It says the mother didn’t report it at the time because she was afraid of Garza.
It says the the mother took precautions after that, to make sure Garza and the girl were never alone again.
It says when Garza was contacted by police, he said the allegations were “bull crap” and the girl was making it up because of an argument they’d had.
It says the mother left Garza and moved frequently to stay with relatives and to hotels, for fear he would find them.
It says someone slashed her tires at one of the hotels and police recovered footage from that area, showing Garza driving his work truck in the same parking lot.
He’s been charged with lewd molestation and attempting to intimidate a witness.
