Chicago police are warning residents about two armed robberies reported on the Northwest Side on Sunday.
According to a Chicago police alert, the suspect in each case was driving a red Kia sedan when she pulled out a knife and attempted to steal the victim’s purse.
According to police, during one of the hold-ups, the robber pressed the knife against the victim’s back, causing a minor cut.
According to police, the first robbery occurred at 1:51 p.m. in the 5300 block of West Lawrence Avenue. The second incident occurred at 2:10 p.m. in the 4500 block of North Milwaukee Avenue.
Police described the suspect as a woman between the ages of 25 and 30, standing 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-7, and weighing between 220 pounds.
