RawNews1st – Plane crash in San Gabriel Valley, California. A pilot suffered minor injuries after a helicopter crash-landed on the runway at Brackett Field Airport in La Verne Saturday morning, authorities said.
The crash was reported about 9:15 a.m., said Eva Ngai, spokeswoman for the Federal Aviation Administration.
The pilot was the only one on board the AutoGyro Calidus, a small, two-seat helicopter.
The La Verne Fire Department tweeted about the crash just before 10 a.m. Air traffic to and from the airport was temporarily shut down, but reopened a little over two hours later.
Several helicopters arriving in the area, no other details yet.
