A Perkins school teacher accused of being drunk in class, is now accused of showing up to her court date, intoxicated.
The new affidavit for Kimberly Coates says on November 6th, a deputy noticed Coates coming through security at the Payne County Courthouse, unstable on her feet, with slowed and slurring speech, glazed eyes and the odor of alcohol.
She was allowed to go to the courtroom but the deputy says Coates had to use the rail and wall to steady herself and was weaving.
The deputy arrested her for public intoxication and says Coates admitted having “a glass of wine” that morning.
She had been arrested in August on the first day of school, accused of being under the influence while there to teach her class of 3rd graders.
