One person is unaccounted for as emergency officials investigate an explosion at a Hastings home.
A city spokesman says the explosion happened at 3:17 Sunday morning in the 600 block of S Boston Ave., which is on the southeast side of town a couple blocks north of the Adams Count Fairgrounds.
The spokesman says there are no confirmed injuries but one person who lives in the house is missing.
A search and rescue team from Lincoln is on the way to the scene.
The State Fire Marshal’s office is leading the investigation into the explosion. The damage to neighboring houses is considered minor.
The area is blocked off to traffic and officials urge people to stay away from the area.
Crews from Hastings Fire and Rescue, Hastings Rural Fire, Juniata and Glenvil fire are all on scene. Local emergency management and the Salvation Army have also responded.
