Omicron sufferers “50-70%” less likely to require hospitalization – UK health watchdog
The UK govt has stated a person with Omicron is “50 to 70% less likely to be admitted to hospital” compared to someone with the Delta strain of Covid, according to preliminary findings.
UK Health Security Agency boss Jenny Harries said the data is an “encouragingly early signal” that anyone who contracts Omicron “may be” at a lower risk level.
However, she also warned “more research is required to confirm these findings,” as the UK confirmed close to 120K cases on Thursday.
