Ogden Police is now ordering evacuations in the area of 1050 N and North of 3300 N due to the fire on the mountain side

Here is what we know:

  • The area in Magelbys and north onto Cove Mountain, including Elk County Cabins, due to a fire that is not sleeping at night and carrying across Magelby’s.
  • The North and West Forks of the Duchesne River due to the Yellow Lake Fire, which has burned nearly 24,000 acres and is 18% contained.

Residents with property in areas under evacuation or near active fires should gather their belongings and personal items and be prepared to leave immediately if advised to do so. It’s crucial to stay out of affected areas to allow fire crews to work.

Please be prepared for evacuations from your homes due to the fire. Evacuations are not required at this time but if the wind shifts please be prepared to leave your home quickly.

Fire units are doing everything they can to fight the fire..

North Ogden 5 acres and growing, 0% contained. 15–20 structures threatened. Started from a vehicle fire, burning uphill in oak. Multiple crews & aircraft responding.

The American Red Cross Northern Utah Chapter has opened an evacuation center at 626 E. 2600 North for those needing shelter.
