Office Investigates Two Seperate Heavy Duty Equipment Thefts

RawNews1st – The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office is asking the public’s assistance in identifying the person(s) responsible for the theft of two skid steers taken at the beginning of December.

Chief Jimmy Travis reports on December 5, 2022, deputies received two separate calls where a skid steer was taken from both locations.

The first case, a John Deere Skid Steer was taken from a job site on Hwy 40 west of Independence, and is still missing. The first photograph attached shows the skid steer in question.

In the second case, a Caterpillar Skid Steer was taken from a construction site on Interstate 55 and was later recovered in the Uneedus area.

The second and third photographs attached show a male person of interest who was seen driving a white Chevrolet pickup with the skid steer loaded onto a bumper pull trailer.
