North Korea REJECTS calls for end-of-war declaration – smokescreen for US policy??
South Korean President Moon Jae-in’s calls for an official declaration to end the Korean War (1950-53) at the UNGA have been slapped down by Pyongyang – claiming America’s military presence and drills “all point to a ‘vicious’ and hostile US policy.
DPRK Vice FM Ri Thae Song claimed it wouldn’t stabilize the Korean Peninsula and more likely a “smokescreen” for Washington.
Seoul believes it could pave the way for lasting peace and denuclearization, but Pyongyang is skeptical while 28k US troops remain stationed south of their border.
