Aldi recalls thousands of cheese pouches in 4 states over possible metal contamination.
A voluntary recall says that 400 cases of Happy Farm’s Colby Jack Deli Sliced Cheese may contain stainless steel fragments, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Each cases includes 12 pouches of cheese that hold 12 ounces.
Nearly 5,000 pouches of shredded cheese sold at Aldi’s stores in four states have been recalled after a possible metal contamination, health regulators warn.
Exposure to the contaminants may cause temporary health risks with an unlikely chance of serious adverse health consequences, the FDA reports.
The Aldi products blend shredded Colby and Monterey cheeses sold in flexible plastic stand-up pouches.
The 400 cases of Happy Farms’ Colby Jack cheese pouches were distributed across in Connecticut, Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania, the FDA reports.
They include expiration dates of July 13 and 14, 2025 and a bar number of 4061463330840, according to the FDA.
