NBA team owner says “nobody cares” about China’s treatment of Uyghurs
Golden State Warriors owner Chamath Palihapitiya has found himself in hot water after controversially saying “nobody cares what’s happening to the Uyghurs” on a recent episode of his podcast.
His comments come as multiple human rights organizations have accused the Chinese Communist Party of committing a genocide against the Uyghur Muslim population.
When pressed by podcast co-host Jason Calacanis about the possibility of standing up for human rights abroad and in the US, Palihapitiya dismissed the claim calling it a “luxury belief.”
