A Tulsa Police arrest a man charged with human trafficking, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, having a gun as a felon and kidnapping.
Officers within the Human Trafficking and Vice Unit say Nathaniel Washington trafficked four adult victims.
They say at least three of the victims were trafficked across state lines from Louisiana and Oregon.
The 6 page affidavit includes numerous details of how Washington and a partner, recruited women online and Washington was in charge of offering “protection” and handling the money made by the victims.
It says there were numerous texts with sex buyers and setting up deals.
It says women were often promised a more stable life but then learned they were to be prostitutes and if they refused or they withheld some of the money for themselves, they were severity beaten.
It says Washington rented a room at one Tulsa motel 36 times in three months and a total of 64 rooms in that motel, during that same time period.
Records show the previous convictions for Washington in Tulsa County:
-July 2016, transporting a loaded firearm; sentenced to 10 days in county jail (1 year suspended sentence, except 10 days in jail)
-July 2021: having drugs with intent to distribute; 3 year suspended sentence.
