N95 mask prices soar as CDC mulls new recommendations to fight back Omicron
A 40-pack of KN95 masks is up $16.99 since November last year to be priced at a whopping $79.99 per box, a Bloomberg report found.
Kimberly-Clark N95 masks have more than doubled in price since October, a box will set customers back $57 today — which will surely hit the hip pocket if the CDC changes its official recommendation to higher quality masks.
Retailers have been accused of price-gouging as the Omicron variant tears across the globe and studies suggest regular cloth masks do virtually nothing to protect against this new variant.
