Murder Suspect Wanted For Carjacking And Killing Washington Rideshare Driver
On August 8 around 3:30 a.m., the suspect involved in this homicide appeared to randomly walk up on the victim as he was stopped along the curb on 1st Avenue South. The suspect was not a rideshare customer based on evidence collected by SPD Homicide detectives.
The suspect car jacked and shot victim, 52-year-old Amare W. Geda, who was working as a rideshare driver, and fled from the location in the victim’s vehicle.
The vehicle fled from the area driving southbound on 1st Avenue passing Spokane Street. It was last seen in West Seattle shortly after the incident.
The vehicle is a light blue 2014 Toyota Prius with Washington license plates BEP3940. Also, the vehicle has one mismatched rim. All other rims are silver in color.
If anyone locates the vehicle, please call 911 immediately. Do not contact the vehicle or the occupants because they are considered armed and dangerous.
