Carterville police are reportedly searching for a person of interest in an attempted homicide, WFCN says, which prompted multiple schools to shut down.Â
According to their latest update, the person — who’s considered armed and dangerous — is driving a blue 2016 Kia with Illinois plate AV20202.
WFCN says if you see the car, call 911 immediately – do not approach the driver.
Multiple schools in Williamson County were placed on lockdown as authorities responded to an active shooter situation this morning along Illinois 13, WFCN News reported.
The scene right now at the Carterville crossroads where police are investigating after one person was reportedly shot. There is no update on their condition at this time. This scene is secured. A suspect is wanted at this time.
