Mother of a 31-year-old woman found fatally shot, wrapped in a sleeping bag and left out with the trash
The body of the woman ā identified by family as Yazmeen Williams ā was found stuffed inside a sleeping bag and left among several black trash bags placed on the sidewalk for garbage collection outside 207 E. 27th St. around 5 p.m. Friday, cops said.
Cops confirmed Monday that she was shot in the head and her death was ruled a homicide.
ā[Officers] said, āAre you Yazmeen Williamsā mother?āā Yazmeenās mother, Nicole Williams, told The Post at her apartment building. āAnd I said, āYes Iām Nicole Williams. Iām her mother.ā And they said, āYour daughter has been shot.ā
āAnd I said, āOK, and sheās going to be all right?ā And they said no, that she died,ā the grief-stricken mom said as she collapsed in tears. āThey said sheās dead. I fainted and the officer had to pick me up off the floor.ā
āSheās my baby!ā Williams added. āWe got to get justice for her!ā
āShe didnāt deserve what happened to her!ā
A man was seen pulling the makeshift body bag on an electric wheelchair before the sack was discovered, law enforcement sources said.
