Mocksville nursing home patients secretly photographed while nude; according to the Davie County Sheriff’s Office:
Deputies responded to Mocksville Senior Living on Hospital Street in Mocksville. It was in reference to an alleged assault between Ronnie Mccoy and Cindy Rice. Rice was an employee of the facility in the memory care unit.
During the investigation, other facility staff showed deputies a video – sent in a group chat from Rice. The video showed Rice inappropriately touching a patient’s breast. Rice was taken into custody and charged with second-degree forcible sex offense.
Rice was placed in the Davie County jail with a $25k bond.
Rice’s cell phone was seized and a search warrant was obtained for the phone. Detectives went through the images and texts on the cell phone.
Numerous images of female patients were found. The pictures showed female patients fully nude and taking showers. It also showed female patients, partially nude, using the restroom.
Detectives were also able to retrieve text messages between Rice and another individual. It showed them sharing the images between each other.
The text messages also indicated that the second individual was asking and directing the photographs to be taken and sent to him.
Detectives met with and were assisted by management from Mocksville Senior Living multiple times to identify victims and victim family contacts. In total, 9 victims were identified. Detectives obtained additional charges on Rice.
Rice, 41, of Mocksville, was charged with 7 counts of misdemeanor secret peeping, 6 counts of felony secret peeping, and 3 additional counts of second-degree forcible sexual offense. Rice received no bond due to having pending charges and is being held in the Davie County jail.
Ronnie Mccoy, 40, of Mocksville, was charged with 8 counts of accessory before the fact for his participation in these activities.
He was given no bond due to having pending charges and is being held in the Davie County jail as well. Deputies did not specifically say if McCoy was the one asking for the photographs to be taken.
