Minneapolis gang shootout leave cops scrambling
A gang shootout in Minneapolis began with a robbery in a bar restroom, escalating into a large gun battle outside. Multiple people were shot, one fatally. Police responded to a chaotic scene and launched an investigation, leading to multiple arrests and convictions of Bloods gang members.
The incident started when a Bloods member robbed a rival gang member in a bar restroom. The robbed individual, “Ike,” was then thrown out of the restroom. He returned with backup, leading to a shootout outside the bar. Surveillance footage showed a Bloods member, Deshawn James Solomon, actively participating in the gunfight. Over 100 spent casings were recovered, and 12 different guns were used.
Solomon was convicted of second-degree murder and other charges, receiving a lengthy prison sentence. The incident was part of a larger federal investigation into the Minneapolis Bloods gang, resulting in charges against 45 members.
