Washington -Microsoft have admitted a security breach in its Azure Cosmos DB cloud system could affect THOUSANDS of customers, including some of the world’s largest companies – only after being alerted by a separate security firm.
The Big Tech giant paid $40k to Wiz after the group explained to them that they had been able to access any control keys they wanted, enabling hackers to read, edit or delete data.
Microsoft themselves can’t change the security keys, but said they’d emailed customers to urge them to change them themselves – and claim there’s “no evidence” others had gained access to data.
