RawNews1st – Michigan Man Arrested For Murder And Issued $5 Million Bond
A Michigan man has been arrested for homicide in Clearwater Township, according to the Kalkaska County Sheriff’s Office.
51-year-old James Watrous is currently in custody with a $5,000,000 cash/surety bond.
At 11:09 p.m. on August 23, authorities received a 911 call from Watrous stating that he had struck 66-year-old Garrett J. Hamminga with a cane and a 2×4, killing him, the sheriff’s office said.
Deputies soon arrived and confirmed Hamminga had sustained “severe wounds to the head,” the sheriff’s office said. EMS arrived and confirmed Hamminga was deceased.
This case is still under investigation.
