Mexican military medical plane carrying 8 people onboard crashes into Galveston Bay, Texas.

A Mexican Navy Beechcraft King Air 350i has crashed into Galveston Bay in Southeastern Texas while preparing to land at Scholes International Airport, with search-and-rescue operations currently underway by local authorities and the U.S. Coast Guard.

“The airplane carrying eight people that crashed into West Galveston Bay on Monday afternoon was a Mexican military medical flight approaching Scholes International Airport in heavy fog, a city official said.
The downed flight was carrying two pilots and six passengers including a pediatric patient in need of burn care likely at Shriner’s Children in Galveston, which specializes in such treatments.

The flight was on the approach for landing when it crashed somewhere west of the causeway, a city official said.”
