Meta Outlaws “condoning violence” to general Russians
Meta has adapted its hate speech guidelines to BAN support for violence against “Russians in general” or calls to murder heads of state.
It comes after Meta apparently decided to allow hate speech against all Russians in internal memos uncovered by Reuters, before scaling it back to “invading” Russians and President Putin.
Meta Global Affairs president Nick Clegg confirmed the U-turn by insisting the platform “has no tolerance for calls for genocide, ethnic cleansing, or any kind of discrimination, harassment, or violence towards Russians.”
