Melbourne FREEDOM – World’s Longest Lockdown City Opens Thursday
Australia’s state of Victoria will leave its sixth pandemic lockdown on Thursday after Premier Dan Andrews introduced radical roadmap changes.
The nighttime curfew and 15km travel limit will end as Victoria hits its 70% vaccination target, as 1,839 new cases and seven deaths were recorded.
Melbourne is the most locked-down city in the world after 258 days under tight restrictions since the pandemic began, but residents will now be allowed to enjoy hospitality and public freedoms.
