Chicago police are investigating a deadly mass shooting in the Austin neighborhood that killed one woman and injured six others.
The shooting happened around 1 a.m. on Sunday in the 4800 block of W. Iowa Street.
According to police, shots were fired into a crowd gathered to remember someone who died in a car accident four years ago. There was a verbal altercation just before the shooting.
A 25-year-old woman was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital and later pronounced dead.
Detectives are searching for witnesses and video in the area.
There have been no arrests reported.
