MURDER ARREST — Marquelon Johnson arrested in city’s 42nd homicide of 2021.
On 10/4/21 just after midnight, officers responded to a shooting near Pine and Harvard in north Tulsa.
Officers found a man lying in the street with a gunshot wound to the upper torso. The victim, Austin Martin, died on the way to the hospital.
The shooting was recorded on multiple security cameras at nearby stores. Video shows Martin was sweeping trash in the parking lot when the suspect approached him, then shot the victim and ran away.
Detectives learned that a man, later identified as Marquelon Johnson, was taken to the hospital after trying to break into a vehicle not far from the shooting scene.
Detectives matched Marquelon Johnson with the suspect seen in the surveillance video, and he was arrested for 1st Degree Murder. He’s currently being held without bond.
