RawNews1st – The Rocky Mount Police Department has identified 22-year-old Mark Williams as the suspect in the shooting investigation.
The victim, Christine Bell (63), was traveling north on North Wesleyan Boulevard near Fabrication Way when a black sedan with multiple suspects fired shots into her vehicle.
Investigators utilized FUSUS Real-Time Intelligence Center to identify the suspect vehicle, registered to Mark Williams.
The investigation led officers to Tarboro, NC, where Tarboro PD and RMPD located the vehicle behind a house on Edmonson Ave.
While officers were at the residence in Tarboro, Williams voluntarily arrived at the RMPD, turning himself in.

Williams received a $140,000 secured bond and was remanded to the Nash County Detention Center.
The Rocky Mount Police Department, Criminal Investigations Unit, continues to investigate the events that led to the shooting.
Due to the suspect, Mark Williams, being a validated gang member, the RMPD Violent Crime and Gang Unit is assisting in the investigation to determine if this incident is gang-related, and identify others involved.
Mark Williams was arrested and charged with the following: Possession of A Firearm by A Felon Assault With Deadly Weapon
Inflicting Serious Injury
Discharging from an enclosure
Discharging into occupied property Damage to property
Discharging in city limits
