Blink-182’s Mark Hoppus has shared an update with fans in regards to his ongoing cancer battle.
The 49-year-old vocalist and bassist revealed on social media last week that he’s undergoing chemotherapy for cancer.
The musician opened up during a Twitch stream, admitting that some days are better than others.
“How am I feeling today? I feel much better than yesterday,” Hoppus said, in response to a fan’s question.
“Yesterday was hellish for me and I woke up today feeling better.”The singer continued, saying he also “went for a walk,” and had a “decent breakfast.”
“I haven’t felt like I was going to throw up today,” he continued. “So, we’ll take it as a win.”
“This round of chemo, I wasn’t totally stuck on the couch, miserable,” he said, adding even when he feels well enough to go out he has to be careful about going out in public due to being immunocompromised after treatment.
“I’ve actually watched movies and walked around and cleaned the house and hung out with my dogs.”
The Blink-182 singer first alerted fans to his cancer battle on June 24, via a post to Twitter. His exact diagnosis is not yet known.”For the past three months I’ve been undergoing chemotherapy for cancer. I have cancer.
It sucks and I’m scared, and at the same time I’m blessed with incredible doctors and family and friends to get me through this,” he wrote.
“I still have months of treatment ahead of me but I’m trying to remain hopeful and positive,” the singer continued.
