Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Maj. John Bean said investigators don’t have any leads on the escapees’ whereabouts yet but have been keeping in contact with surrounding communities and the inmates’ families.
Police investigating discovered that the two escaped at approximately 10 p.m. Saturday. It wasn’t until Monday that jail personnel found the inmates had gotten out of the facility.
“They had made access through one of the showers in the pod area they were in, creating a hole there and subsequently making their way to the roof. They made a hole there and then climbed off the building,” Bean said.
It is unknown if the two suspects are armed, but Bean said they put out the dangerous aspects of the inmates’ charges to properly warn the public of potential dangers.
“Just for the fact of their past conduct, we’ve considered them dangerous,” Bean said.
The department urges anyone with information or tips on the location of Roush and Bryant to notify police immediately.
