A Michigan man who murdered a 17-year-old girl and a woman in 2021 has been sentenced.
The suspect, 37-year-old Brad Srebnik, was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole in the 26th Circuit Court. He was convicted in February for the murders of 17-year-old Brynn Bills and 31-year-old Abby Hill in 2021.
On February 22, 2024, Srebnik’s co-defendant, 36-year-old Joshua Wirgau, took a plea deal and was sentenced to serve at least 15 years in prison.
On August 2, 2021, Bills was picked up by Hill, the Michigan Department of Attorney General said in a news release.
Shortly thereafter, Srebnik murdered Bills and, with the help of Wirgau and Hill, buried Bills’ body in the backyard of Wirgau’s residence.
On September 25, 2021, Srebnik, Wirgau and Hill “were dropped off in a remote area of Alpena to camp, where Srebnik murdered Hill by gunshot to keep her from revealing information about the murder of Bills,” the department stated.
“Srebnik murdered two young woman in cold blood, and the loss of Brynn Bills and Abby Hill will be mourned by this community and their families for years to come.
This is a just and appropriate sentence,” said Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel in a statement Thursday.
In September 2021, authorities located Bills’ body on Wirgau’s property and Abby Hill’s body was found the following month.
