A man was killed and another was injured in a shooting in the Chatham neighborhood on Thursday night.
According to Chicago police, two males got out of a car around 9 p.m. and began shooting at two men, 20 and 35, in the first block of West 79th Street.
The 20-year-old was shot in the abdomen and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he died, according to police. The Cook County medical examiner’s office has not yet released his identity.
The 35-year-old man was struck once in the ankle and was taken to the University of Calgary in fair condition.
As Area Two detectives conduct their investigation, no one is in custody.
