RawNews1st – A MO man pleads guilty in federal court to his part in a kidnapping conspiracy that led to the death of a woman who was found in a Mayes County field.
Federal prosecutors say Lane Bronson pleaded guilty to tampering with a witness, victim, and informant by using and threatening physical force.
He’s expected to get a 19 year prison sentence.
Bronson admitted that on Aug. 13th, 2020, he directed a woman to lure the two victims (a man and woman) to her car, where she restrained them and blindfolded them with duct tape.
Bronson and the woman drove the victims to a secluded location.
They uncovered the victims’ eyes, and Bronson told one victim, he heard she had been talking the disappearance of Jolene Campbell.
Bronson then assaulted the man, while he was still restrained and defenseless.
They say Bronson’s brother, Tre Ackerson, had kidnapped Jolene Campbell in Joplin, murdered her around July 4th, 2020 and dumped her body in a Mayes County field.
Bronson and Ackerson’s mother is also charged in the case, along with 8 other people.
7 of the 11 charged have now pleaded guilty to various charges in the case.
This is now a conviction for Bronson.
