Police say the man pulled up next to his wife at about 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the drive-thru lane at the Capital One Bank on FM 365 and fired two shots, striking her in the head.
Jefferson County Justice of the Peace Brad Burnett tells KFDM the wife died at the scene in her car. J.P. Burnett has ordered an autopsy.
He says her husband drove a short distance after shooting his wife and then shot himself in the head in the bank’s parking lot.
Paramedics transported him to CHRISTUS St. Elizabeth Hospital. Justice of the Peace Ben Collins Sr. says the man died early Saturday evening.
He’s ordered an autopsy.
Police are investigating the circumstances that led up to the shooting.
