According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, a man is in custody after allegedly sexually assaulting his ex and telling her he was going to kill her and their children.
Thammaya Siackhasone, 39, of Volo, was apprehended while fleeing the scene of the alleged attack on Friday around 10 a.m.
According to police, Siackhasone went to the victims’ home to pick up their children, both of whom are under the age of ten.
He told the kids to wait in the car before returning inside and sexually assaulting the victim.
When one of the children witnessed the abuse, the victim was able to break free and flee. According to police, she fled to a neighbor’s house to dial 911.
Siackhasone told the victim during the battery that he intended to kill her and the children.
Siackhasone attempted to flee but was stopped by deputies.
Charges for Home Invasion, Aggravated Criminal Sexual Assault, Aggravated Domestic Battery, Attempt Criminal Sexual Assault, Criminal Trespass to Residence, and Interfering with the Reporting of Domestic Violence were approved by the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office.
The victim’s injuries were treated at a nearby hospital.
Siackhasone is still being held in the Lake County Jail pending his initial court appearance on Saturday morning.
