A Depew man is going to federal prison for 28 years for child sex crimes.
Federal prosecutors say a jury found Johnny Summers guilty of sexual abuse of a minor and abusive sexual contact with a minor.
Federal prosecutor in Tulsa say during the trial, three victims testified about how Summers took advantage of them.
They say from February 2021 through January 2022, Summers sought out and coerced one of the victims, who was 14 years old.
Summers wanted to engage in sexual activity and sent her thousands of sexually inappropriate messages and requested she send him nude photos, then eventually sexually abused her.
Once he’s released, he’ll have to register as a sex offender and be on supervision for 15 years.
Records show he was convicted in Creek County in 2019 for violating the state’s computer crimes act and was initially given a 5 year suspended sentence, but, after breaking the rules, was sentenced to 3 years in prison.
