A Muskogee man is going to federal prison for 27 years for the death of a 2 year old.
Federal prosecutors say 29-year-old Ezzard Onebear pleaded guilty last year to causing a death with a firearm during a crime of violence.
One December 21, 2011, Onebear, had accepted a contract to kill a woman, who was the target of a gang hit.
He went to the woman’s home, knocked on door and in the struggle that followed, fired a .380 caliber handgun into the home.
That bullet hit and killed two-year-old child Ja’Cion Logan-Ragsdale.
He was originally sentenced in state court and sentenced to 25 years in prison, then, that got dismissed based on the U.S. Supreme Court on tribal jurisdiction, then, the feds picked it up.
This is now a conviction.
