Man is charged with child abuse by injury, accused of spanking and slamming his 5 year old son
A Tulsa man is charged with child abuse by injury, accused of spanking and slamming his 5 year old son, whose face hit a bed and it knocked out 2 of the boy’s teeth.
The probable cause affidavit for Drake Christensen, says it happened on January 30, 2023.
It says Christensen was angry because the 5 year old was keeping the 2 year old awake.
It says the boy was spanked very hard and slammed and he face planted into the corner of a bed and busted out 2 of this teeth and started gushing blood.
It says the boy said, “He slammed my face. He was so mad.”
It says the boy said he was told to spit out the blood and go to sleep.
It says an older sibling said Christensen gets frustrated when he doesn’t take his medications and said Christensen cried afterward and was sorry.
It says the boy’s mother took him to the hospital the next day.
It says when Christensen was interviewed by police in May of 2023, he admitted having a bad day and being frustrated because the victim had an attitude and being angry and spanking the victim really hard, causing his face to hit the bed and knock out 2 teeth and start bleeding.
It says Christensen said he didn’t take the boy for medical treatment because the bleeding stopped and he thought he had it under control.
