A man is charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, after police say he pistol whipped a woman for no apparent reason.
The probable cause affidavit for Chase Meyers says on April 21, 2024 around 2:20 AM, officers found the woman on the ground, with blood covering her face and hair, with a cut on her left eye and cuts on the back of her head.
It says while helping her, Meyers walked up to officers, carrying a revolver but complied when officers told him to put it away.
It says Meyers told police, he and his girlfriend had stopped to help the woman but she pointed a derringer at his face, so he punched her.
It says a security guard who witnessed it, never saw the woman with a gun.
It says a couple of hours later, an officer stopped Meyers and Meyers again, pulled out his revolver, but again complied and handed it over to the officer.
It says at that time, Meyer told police, he had pistol whipped the woman, but, said she had a gun, then gave several different stories about what happened.
It says the woman told police, she’d been at a downtown bar and had 4-5 drinks and felt like she’d been drugged and remembered a man hitting her in the face with a gun.
It says she needed several stitches on her eye and 9 staples in her head.
Records show Meyers was charged a couple months ago in Tulsa County with misdemeanor DUI and having a gun while under the influence and a trial date for that case has been set for November.
