A man is accused of sexually abusing his stepdaughter for multiple years while her mother allegedly knew about it.
On January 2, 2026 sheriff’s say deputies were called to a home in Belton, South Carolina. Upon arrival, they identified a 14-year-old girl asking for help from law enforcement.
Officials said evidence shows the suspect, 38-year-old Andrew Joseph Martin, sexually abused the girl for years and pressured her to keep quiet about it.
Deputies mentioned that 35-year-old Misty Danielle Norris was also charged after she admitted to knowing about the acts between Martin and the girl.
The sheriff’s office said Martin has been charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor, first degree, while Norris is charged with accessory and unlawful child neglect.
Deputies said they are still in the midst of investigating and more charges are pending for Martin.
Martin is currently being held in the Oconee County Detention Center for unrelated charges.
